Millions of Taiwanese Personal Data Allegedly from China's Dark Web; 'Four Cat' Aims to Bankrupt 'Dark Knight'!

Internet personality Liu Yu, known as 'Four Cat,' is spearheading a campaign against Wang Dawei, also known as 'Dark Knight,' who is accused of purchasing and misusing millions of Taiwanese citizens' personal data obtained from the dark web. The data reportedly includes household registration and health insurance information.

Wang allegedly used this sensitive information to conduct online attacks and issue threats against individuals he disagreed with. 'Four Cat' revealed that Wang purchased approximately 23.57 million household registration records and 16 million personal data entries for about NT$160,000 (around $5,000 USD) from the dark web. This data, potentially originating from leaks over a decade ago, is believed to cover most Taiwanese citizens over 15 years old.

Wang Dawei likes to attack politicians and netizens from the pan-green camp. He not only publicly shames netizens' workplaces but also uses small accounts to privately message their ID numbers and addresses to mock them even after being blocked.

'Four Cat' is now calling on victims who have had their personal information leaked by Wang to come forward. By pooling resources and filing civil lawsuits, the aim is to financially ruin Wang. This initiative follows a separate case where Wang and another individual were indicted for allegedly providing personal data of Yunlin County Magistrate Chang Li-shan to a Chinese official, violating national security laws.
