Mina to release 10 unreleased songs and 10 never-before-seen photos

Mina is opening a musical drawer she has kept closed for years. Her new album, “Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze,” will gather 10 cover versions she recorded over a period stretching from the 1970s to April 2026, but never included on her albums’ final track lists.

The record, due out Oct. 9, will also contain 10 photographs by Mauro Balletti that have never been published. A first listening event is expected at Milan’s Triennale in a month. The album will appear in digital formats as well as on CD and vinyl.

The opening single, scheduled for Sept. 18, is “Vento di passione” by Pino Daniele. Mina recorded her version in spring 2026, using her current voice. Ferzan Ozpetek directed the video, whose visual story will feature Luca Argentero. Mina herself is expected to appear only in a photo booklet during the closing notes.

Daniele’s song was made famous through his memorable duet with Giorgia. Mina and Giorgia have long expressed mutual affection and esteem, and previously recorded “Poche parole” together. Mina has also performed several of Daniele’s songs in the past, including “Quanno chiove,” “Je Sto Vicino a Te,” “Napule è” and “Je so pazzo.”

The remaining tracks are expected to include tributes to Daniele and another artist, while six songs will take listeners through lesser-known pieces that Mina considers valuable parts of music history. Ivano Fossati is among the names mentioned, and speculation also surrounds a new interpretation of a Beatles song. Unlike the first two “Dilettevoli eccedenze” volumes, this collection will contain songs that have not appeared on any other Mina album.
