Minibus Hits Building in German School Run; Children Injured

A minibus transporting elementary school children experienced a serious accident in Salem, located in the Bodenseekreis district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The vehicle veered off the road and struck the side of a corner building.

According to police reports, the minibus was carrying 18 children at the time of the incident. Eight of these children were transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure, all suffering from minor injuries. The driver, a 59-year-old woman, sustained moderate injuries and was also taken to a clinic.

Authorities indicated that the accident was triggered by an acute medical problem experienced by the driver. The vehicle drifted left off the roadway, scraping the building's facade on the driver's side. The entire left side of the minibus sustained damage in the collision.

The minibus had a total seating capacity of 25. The incident occurred on the way to school, and emergency services responded promptly to the scene.
