Minister Gürlek shares latest on Gülistan Doku probe: 'We won't let go'

Justice Minister Akın Gürlek has provided an update on the ongoing investigations into the fate of Gülistan Doku, conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Tunceli and Erzurum. Gürlek emphasized that these probes are proceeding in full coordination with the Interior Ministry, employing a multifaceted, comprehensive, and in-depth approach.

The investigations carried out by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Tunceli and Erzurum to shed light on Gülistan Doku's fate are being conducted in full coordination with our Ministry of Interior, in a multifaceted, comprehensive, and in-depth manner.

Recent operations have resulted in legal proceedings against 32 suspects. Of these, 15 individuals have been arrested, while 14 are subject to judicial control measures. Additionally, one suspect apprehended under a red notice is now facing extradition proceedings to Turkey, and the detentions of two other suspects are ongoing.

The investigation is meticulously examining a wide array of evidence, including call detail records (HTS), cell tower data, camera footage, digital materials, financial transactions, hospital records, vehicles, and DNA and forensic findings. Efforts are underway to recover deleted or altered records and to gather all evidence necessary to establish the material truth.

With the new wave of operations carried out this week, legal action has been taken against 32 suspects; 15 suspects have been arrested, judicial control measures have been applied to 14 suspects, and the extradition process of 1 suspect caught under a red notice to Turkey has been initiated. The detention procedures for 2 suspects are still ongoing.

Minister Gürlek affirmed a resolute commitment to uncovering the facts, stating, "We will not allow the material truth to be covered up, no matter where it leads." He vowed that the ministry will not abandon the case until Gülistan Doku's fate is fully clarified and those responsible are brought to justice.
