Minister Urges Acceleration of Kuantan Singingi Integrated School Construction

Indonesian Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, has called for the expedited completion of the Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi (SRT) 1 project in Kuantan Singingi, Riau. During a site visit on Tuesday (4/8), Hanggodo emphasized the need to finalize all remaining work promptly to ensure students can learn in a safe and comfortable environment.

He stressed that while meeting the deadline is crucial, the quality of work, particularly in the finishing stages, must be maintained. "What is not finished, finish it immediately, especially the neatness in the finishing stage, so that all teaching and learning activities can proceed well," Hagedo stated in a written release on Wednesday (5/8).

The construction of SRT 1, situated on a 7.5-hectare site with a total building area of 13,081.84 square meters, is a testament to the government's commitment to providing quality education through adequate infrastructure. The complex comprises 25 integrated buildings and is being executed by PT Duta Rama-PT Gala Karya (KSO) under the Riau Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Work Unit. The project's contract value stands at Rp226.98 billion, funded by the State Budget for fiscal years 2025-2026.

As of August 3, 2026, the overall construction progress reached 92.59 percent, with a target completion date of August 8, 2026. Key facilities, including buildings for SMA (high school), SMP (junior high school), and SD (elementary school), a multipurpose hall, kitchen, place of worship, dormitory, sports facilities, utility networks, and landscaping, are in their final stages.

This integrated educational complex is designed to foster a cohesive learning environment for students from elementary through high school. The SRT program aligns with the Ministry of Public Works' Vision 608, which focuses on delivering safe, functional, and sustainable educational infrastructure. The ministry believes that adequate educational facilities are fundamental to improving human resource quality and supporting the goal of zero poverty through equitable access to education.
