Minister: Village Cooperative Program Realizes Soemitro Djojohadikusumo's Economic Vision

Indonesian Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ferry Juliantono, has lauded President Prabowo Subianto's Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) program as a tangible manifestation of the economic principles espoused by the late Prof. Soemitro Djojohadikusumo. The program seeks to embed an economy rooted in togetherness and mutual cooperation, aligning with the nation's constitutional mandate.

Ferry emphasized that Soemitro, a significant figure in Indonesia's cooperative movement and a founder of Induk Koperasi Pegawai Republik Indonesia (IKPRI), laid foundational policies for evidence-based economic strategies. The KDKMP initiative is presented as a technocratic implementation of these ideas, designed to steer the national economy back toward constitutional principles outlined in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.
