Ministry launches gender-responsive budget tools

Zanzibar's Ministry of Finance and Planning has introduced new tools designed to foster a gender-responsive budget. The initiative seeks to ensure that government policies and development plans equally address the needs and opportunities of both men and women.

Finance Minister Dr. Juma Malik emphasized the budget's crucial role as the government's main instrument for executing development strategies. He highlighted that by integrating gender considerations into the budgeting process, Zanzibar aims to achieve more equitable and sustainable development outcomes.
