Ministry of Manpower prepares electrical installation training for North Aceh disaster survivors

Indonesia's Ministry of Manpower, through the Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BPVP) Banda Aceh, is set to collaborate with the NGO Institut Hijau Indonesia to offer electrical installation training for disaster survivors in North Aceh. The initiative, planned for implementation this year, aims to equip survivors with essential skills.

LSM Institut Hijau Indonesia wants to make electrical installation training for disaster victims in North Aceh, and later collaborate with us.

Rahmad Faisal, head of BPVP Banda Aceh, stated that the Institut Hijau Indonesia proposed the training for disaster victims. While the collaboration is planned, the specific technical details are still under discussion. BPVP Banda Aceh is currently evaluating the program's alignment with the actual needs of the disaster-affected communities.

BPVP Banda Aceh's role will focus on providing an applicable teaching structure, ensuring participants can immediately apply the knowledge gained. The center is also identifying whether the community requires only training or also job placement assistance afterward.

Because we are currently looking at what the needs of the community are. Do they only need training, or also jobs. So that we don't go in the wrong direction later.

Faisal emphasized that providing job training programs, especially for disaster victims, is a government obligation through the Ministry of Manpower. He noted that various forms of assistance have been distributed to disaster survivors in different regions, including construction training, labor-intensive programs, and entrepreneurship training. He cited an example of entrepreneurship training for disaster victims in Pidie Jaya before the recent Eid al-Adha, which included business assistance of Rp2.5 million per recipient.
