Minor from Split Charged with Terrorism for Bomb Threats to Schools, Police, and Media

A minor from Split faces terrorism charges for sending bomb threats to schools, police stations, and media outlets across the Split-Dalmatia County. The County State's Attorney's Office in Split announced the charges following a preparatory procedure against the Croatian national, born in 2010.

The indictment alleges that between April 23 and 24, the minor intentionally caused fear among the population by sending emails containing threats of explosive device use. These messages endangered the lives of others and threatened damage to public facilities. The State's Attorney's Office has submitted a proposal to the Juvenile Council of the County Court in Split for the imposition of juvenile sanctions, in accordance with the Law on Courts for Youth.

Legal provisions for minors are being applied in this case. The prosecution has proposed extending the temporary measure of supervision by the Croatian Employment Service to provide assistance and protection. Additionally, precautionary measures, including a ban on internet access, are being sought in line with relevant articles of the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Law on Courts for Youth.
