Minxiong 'Big Banquet' Serves Up Starry Night Feast at Radio Museum

The National Radio Museum in Minxiong became the vibrant setting for the fourth annual Minxiong Big Banquet, a cultural feast that celebrates local identity and culinary traditions. This year's event, themed "Banquet is Dazzling, Come to Minxiong!", drew a crowd eager to experience the region's charm.

The banquet showcased the strong local appeal and rich food culture of the Minxiong business district. It was meticulously planned by renowned Taiwanese writer Zheng Shuncong, with calligraphy by national treasure folk artist Chen Mingshan, and the kitchen helmed by master chef Xie Zilin from Xikou. This collaboration highlights the collaborative spirit and deep roots of local talent.

Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang praised the event as one of the county's most representative "more beautiful as the night goes on" cultural celebrations. He noted its success in integrating local tourism and business district characteristics through food culture, effectively promoting Chiayi's warmth and flavors. Weng also commended the Minxiong Business District Development Association as the most active and highest-grossing business district in Chiayi County.

Beyond the sumptuous dishes, the banquet featured an impressive lineup of stage performances. Four groups offered cross-disciplinary performances, including the local warm female voice "Slow Soul Park" and the "Chang Yi Ge Puppetry Troupe," a Chiayi treasure that won the 36th Traditional Arts Golden Melody Award Jury Award. Xu Sheng-chang, chairman of the Minxiong Business District Development Association, emphasized that the banquet is more than just a meal; it's about creating a classic and unforgettable memory by connecting local culture, festive atmosphere, and artistic aesthetics.
