Miraculous escape: Regional train hits car, driver survives with 'guardian angels'

A 65-year-old man narrowly escaped severe injury after his car was struck by a regional train at a guarded crossing near Manching, Germany. The driver, who was lightly injured, was airlifted to a hospital, with police attributing his survival to "guardian angels."

The collision occurred when the man's car was hit by a train traveling at approximately 120 km/h on its route from Ingolstadt to Regensburg. The car was destroyed, lying on its side after the impact. Police are investigating the incident, with the driver facing charges for dangerous interference with rail traffic. Authorities are working to reconstruct the accident, as initial findings suggest the crossing's barriers and signals were operational at the time.

The train carried 132 passengers, none of whom were reported injured. They remained on board for about 1.5 hours after the accident while the fire department provided them with drinks. Passengers were later transported to the next train station by bus. The railway line and the adjacent road were completely closed for about five and a half hours.
