Miraculous rescue: Turtle found alive under rubble over a month after Venezuela earthquakes

In a heartwarming tale of survival, a pet turtle named Pascualina has been miraculously rescued after being trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building for over a month following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on July 24.

The small morrocoy turtle was discovered on July 28, buried deep within the debris of what was once a sixth-floor apartment in Catia La Mar, La Guaira. The discovery was shared in a video on Instagram by user Alan Rodríguez, who has been documenting ongoing search and rescue efforts for both humans and animals in the affected areas north of Caracas.

Footage shows Rodríguez carefully removing glass, appliances, and concrete fragments surrounding Pascualina. The turtle, with half her body buried, was struggling to free herself with her front legs. "Pascualina my love... stay still," Rodríguez can be heard saying in the video, expressing relief and awe at the find. "One of so many survivors. We must save the animals too. A miracle from God," he added, emphasizing the incredible resilience of the creature.

According to reports, Pascualina survived for more than 30 days without access to food, water, or light. Her survival is a testament to the tenacity of life. This remarkable rescue comes as rescue organizations like "Misión Nevado" report having saved approximately 648 companion animals in the La Guaira and San Bernardino areas since the earthquakes.
