Missing 20-something man found dead in Jeju's Seogwipo

A young soldier working in Jeju has been found dead after he was reported missing by his parents. The 20-something man was discovered by authorities on the afternoon of the 29th, about 25 hours after his family alerted them to his disappearance. His parents had reported him missing on the afternoon of the 28th, stating that their child, who was working in Jeju, was not responding to calls. Investigations revealed that the man had left his residence on the morning of the 27th, equipped with fishing gear. His mobile phone had been switched off since that day, adding to the concern. CCTV footage showed the man leaving his home on the morning of the 27th, taking his fishing equipment and driving away in his vehicle. Police and fire departments located his car near the Hyehaeng Port in Seogwipo and focused their search efforts in the surrounding coastal areas. It was in this vicinity that his body was eventually found. At the time of discovery, the man was already deceased. The exact circumstances and cause of his death are currently under investigation by the police. The man was reportedly on his day off when he went missing.
