Missing 72-year-old disabled man found in wooded area

Search teams found 72-year-old Hüseyin Açıkgöz in a wooded area near his home in Bolu after relatives noticed he was missing.

Açıkgöz had gone to bed at home the previous night. His family realized at about 6 a.m. that he was no longer in his bed and could not find him in or around the house. They contacted Turkey’s emergency call center, prompting AFAD and gendarmerie teams to begin a broad search of Merkeşler village and its surroundings.

Teams found Açıkgöz at about 5 p.m. in an area around 300 meters from his home in Demirciler neighborhood. He was exhausted and lying motionless. Responders gave him initial treatment at the scene, and medical teams took him for further care.
