Missing Woman in Her 50s Found Dead in Seoul Officetel Parking Tower

A woman in her 50s, who had been reported missing, was discovered dead in a parking tower in Seoul's Gangseo District on July 16. The discovery was made by police around 6 p.m. in the basement mechanical parking area of an officetel in Hwagok-dong.

The woman, identified as resident A, was reported missing by her family on July 6 after they were unable to contact her. She was found on the floor of the parking tower, which had reportedly been suspended from operation due to a malfunction.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding her death. Their initial hypothesis is that she may have fallen within the malfunctioning parking tower. However, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of criminal involvement and are pursuing leads related to potential foul play.

The body has been sent to the National Forensic Service for a detailed autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
