MLB Names Pete Alonso and Corbin Carroll Players of the Week

Major League Baseball has recognized Pete Alonso of the Baltimore Orioles and Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks as the Players of the Week for the American and National Leagues, respectively. This marks a significant achievement for both players.

Alonso, the Orioles' first baseman, secured his sixth career Player of the Week award and his first while playing for Baltimore. During the recent week, he was a consistent offensive force, hitting .545 with a .545 slugging percentage. His performance included a double, two home runs, and five runs batted in across six games. Alonso is the only player to have won a weekly award in each of the last five seasons and is the first Oriole to receive the honor since Gunnar Henderson in September 2024.

Carroll, an outfielder for the Diamondbacks, earned his second career weekly award, having previously won in 2023 and 2025. He showcased his all-around abilities, hitting .409 with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, and a stolen base over six games. Notably, his two triples pushed his season total to 15, leading all of Major League Baseball in this category. Carroll is on track to lead the National League in triples for the fourth consecutive season.

Carroll is the third Diamondbacks player to be honored this season, joining Venezuelan infielder Ildemaro Vargas and Dominican shortstop Ketel Marte. The recognition highlights the strong performances of these players early in the season.
