MoCIIP unveils action plan for Dhofar ahead of Khareef

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) is intensifying preparations for the Dhofar Governorate's upcoming Khareef season with an integrated action plan. The initiative aims to bolster monitoring efforts and guarantee the availability of essential goods, ensuring market stability and improved services for both visitors and residents.

Preparations for the Dhofar Khareef season have been intensified through the implementation of an integrated plan to enhance monitoring and ensure the availability of essential goods. Ensuring the readiness of fuel stations and essential services to support market stability and enhance the quality of services provided to visitors and residents.

Economic performance in the Dhofar Governorate showed robust growth during the first quarter of the year. This vitality is attributed to strong momentum in commercial and industrial licensing, alongside notable expansion in the construction and services sectors. These indicators reflect a dynamic investment environment and sustained economic activity across the governorate's various districts.

Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Badrani, Director General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Dhofar, detailed the field action plan. It includes intensified monitoring and inspection activities to ensure regulatory compliance, oversight of strategic food reserves, and confirmation of fuel station readiness. These measures are designed to support the governorate's development goals.

The indicators showed the registration of around 1,059 new commercial registrations (CRs), with Salalah leading economic activity with 924 CRs, followed by Taqah with 29 CRs. The remaining CRs were distributed across the governorate’s wilayats, including 26 CRs in Mirbat, while Dhalkut recorded notable growth of 275%. As a result, commercial registrations in the governorate increased to 70,195 by the end of the first quarter, reflecting the continued expansion of the commercial base

Statistical data highlights the registration of approximately 1,059 new commercial registrations in the first quarter, with Salalah leading with 924. Taqah followed with 29, and Mirbat with 26. Dhalkut notably saw a 275% growth. This brought the total commercial registrations to 70,195 by the end of the quarter. In terms of commercial licenses, 7,448 were processed, bringing the total to 73,052. Automatically issued licenses also increased significantly, reaching 8,656 in the first quarter, for a total of 113,368. The industrial sector saw 645 industrial licenses completed, bringing the total to 9,201, with Salalah accounting for the majority.

With regard to commercial licences, the governorate recorded advanced levels of efficiency in processing transactions, with 7,448 commercial licences completed during the same period, bringing the total to 73,052 licences. Licences automatically issued also saw significant growth as part of efforts to facilitate the business environment, reaching 8,656 licences during the first quarter and bringing the total to 113,368 licences.
