Molotov Cocktails Thrown at Birmingham Wedding Reception, Luxury Cars Torched

Chaos erupted at a wedding reception in Birmingham when three unidentified men hurled Molotov cocktails at guests and parked vehicles. The attack, which occurred Wednesday evening outside the Royal Shalimar event hall in Sparkbrook, saw five incendiary devices thrown as around 500 people celebrated.

Security footage shows the assailants, dressed in black, targeting the venue entrance and a row of luxury cars. Three devices were directed at the hall's entrance, while two others ignited expensive vehicles parked outside. Guests were seen scrambling to safety, with some attempting to extinguish the flames.

Two high-end cars, reportedly a Lamborghini and a McLaren, were engulfed in fire. The facade of the event hall also caught fire but was contained by staff using fire extinguishers before emergency services arrived. The presence of children, including a baby, at the event heightened concerns about the potential consequences of the attack.

Fahim Kayani, president of the All Parties International Kashmir Coordination Committee, was among the attendees. He described the scene, noting that the restaurant downstairs was also occupied at the time of the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and authorities are investigating.
