Monterrey bridges nearing completion, set to benefit 3,000 daily

Monterrey's infrastructure is set to improve with the nearing completion of the La Virgen and Puente Nuevo bridges over the Santa Catarina River. Governor Samuel García, accompanied by Infrastructure Undersecretary José Francisco Ibargüengoytia, reviewed the construction sites, which are expected to benefit 3,000 people daily.

The La Virgen bridge has reached 87% completion, while the Puente Nuevo is at 92%. As part of the broader area improvements, eight pedestrian bridges have been remodeled to facilitate access to Metro Line 04, which will run through the area. García highlighted that the monorail, currently 94% complete, will be the longest in the continent.

Additionally, two linear parks, spanning nearly 7 kilometers, will be developed alongside the bridges. These parks are intended to provide spaces for walking, exercise, and family activities, enhancing the quality of life for residents. The infrastructure aims to ensure safe pedestrian flow between the Rise tower's offices, apartments, and hotel, and the mass transit system.

The Puente Nuevo, measuring 206 meters in length with a 160-meter central span and a total height of 50 meters, will connect pedestrians from Morones Prieto and Constitución avenues to the Obispado Station. The Puente La Virgen will facilitate pedestrian passage from Av. Morones Prieto to Av. Constitución.
