MOP announces road rehabilitation for La Valdeza in La Chorrera

Residents of Guadalupe, La Chorrera, in Panamá Oeste, are celebrating the rehabilitation of the main road to La Valdeza, a project that concludes over two decades of waiting and community demands. Local authorities and the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) inspected the completed work, marking a significant improvement in connectivity for the region.

This revitalized road is crucial for Panamá Oeste, serving as a daily transit route for hundreds of people traveling to and from more than eight communities. These include areas such as 19 de Abril, barriada La Valdeza, Llano Largo, and Praderas, all of which will benefit from the improved infrastructure.

Beyond this immediate improvement, the MOP, led by José Luis Andrade, has outlined ambitious plans to further enhance regional mobility. These include a significant expansion of the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway, increasing its lanes from six to eight. Additionally, improvements are slated for the Vía Centenario and Vía Mariano Rivera, alongside the rehabilitation of key vehicular bridges on the highway, mirroring the expansion model used for the bridge leading to Vía Vacamonte.
