More Than 100 Women Compete in Vietnam for the Miss World 2026 Crown

The Miss World 2026 contest has brought 111 women to Vietnam, where they are competing for a crown that carries an added anniversary marker: the British pageant is celebrating its 75th year.

The contestants arrived in Nha Trang, a coastal tourism city in south-central Vietnam, during the second week of August. They came from more than 100 countries and territories and have since taken part in challenges that will shape much of the ranking before the live final.

Only 40 contestants will remain just minutes after the gala begins. The pageant divides participants into four regional groups, Asia and Oceania, the Americas and the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa, to ensure equal representation in the final group.

Thirteen of the 21 contestants already guaranteed a place in the final 40 are known. Vietnam, France, Nigeria and the Dominican Republic qualified after winning regional catwalk competitions. Zambia, Germany, Indonesia and French Guiana advanced through the multimedia skills challenge. Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa and the Philippines won places through the Head-to-Head competition, where contestants answer questions and discuss social causes they support at home.

England’s representative advanced after winning the talent contest by singing “Over the Rainbow,” while Puerto Rico’s contestant won the sports competition. Regional winners from the public vote and the Beauty with a Purpose challenge, which assesses contestants’ aid projects in their countries, have yet to be announced. Contestants from Venezuela, Spain, Guatemala, Uganda and Paraguay are among those prequalified for the humanitarian-focused competition. Former pageant winners will also select finalists, with the final six required to include representatives from all four regions, a public-vote candidate and a contestant recognized for a humanitarian project.
