Moroccan Agricultural Worker Dies in Italy Accident; Eight Injured

A Moroccan agricultural worker lost his life and eight others were injured in a traffic accident on Sunday in the town of Serracapriola, located in the province of Foggia in southern Italy. The incident was confirmed by Moroccan consular sources.

The accident happened when the small truck transporting the group of agricultural workers veered off the road near Monticchio before overturning. According to the Consulate General of the Kingdom in Naples, one of the workers on board died at the scene, while the others sustained injuries, with one person in a particularly serious condition.

Local authorities reported that the critically injured individual, suffering from multiple severe injuries, was airlifted to a hospital. Three other passengers were transported by ambulance to the emergency room. The workers were reportedly returning to Foggia after a day's work in the neighboring Molise region.

The incident highlights the dangers faced by agricultural laborers, who often work in remote areas and may be transported in less-than-ideal conditions. The accident serves as a somber reminder of the risks associated with seasonal agricultural work.
