Moroccan Technical Director Larguet Bids Farewell to Saudi Football Federation

Moroccan technical director Nasser Larguet has officially announced his departure from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF). His exit comes as his four-year contract, focused on developing Saudi football, concludes. Larguet shared his farewell message through his social media accounts.

I leave my position feeling immense pride and gratitude after a distinguished experience within the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.

Larguet expressed immense pride and gratitude for what he described as a "distinguished" experience within the SAFF. He noted that working in Saudi Arabia since 2022 has been a significant honor. The director highlighted the nation's steady progress toward achieving its Vision 2030 objectives and its preparations to host the 2034 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams.

He extended his thanks to the Saudi leadership, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and SAFF President Yasser Al-Misehal, as well as all SAFF employees, for their support and trust during his tenure. Larguet emphasized that joint efforts over the past years have yielded numerous achievements.

Working in Saudi Arabia since 2022 has been a great honor for me, and the country is moving steadily towards achieving its Vision 2030 goals.

These accomplishments include the development of youth programs, coach training, and enhancing the performance of both men's and women's national teams, all aimed at building a sustainable and strong football base. He pointed to the results, such as three Saudi national teams qualifying for the World Cup in a single season, 11 national team titles secured since 2022, and the U17 team's return to the World Cup after a 35-year absence, as reflections of the work accomplished. Larguet attributed these successes to the collective efforts of many behind the scenes, who have bolstered Saudi football's international standing, and wished his successor success in continuing the development.
