Morocco arrests two over fatal assault at Saidia marina

Two French nationals of Moroccan descent were apprehended by Moroccan authorities at the Beni Ansar border crossing in Nador province. The men, aged 31 and 34, are suspected of involvement in a violent altercation that led to a death. They were detained as they attempted to depart Morocco in a car with French license plates.

The incident reportedly began early Tuesday morning after a dispute at the Marina Saidia. The argument escalated into a physical fight, during which one of the victims sustained severe injuries and later died at the hospital. Three other individuals accompanying the deceased also suffered injuries but have since been released from the hospital after receiving treatment.

Investigators are holding the two arrested suspects under judicial custody as they seek to uncover the full circumstances of the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and arrest two other individuals who were reportedly with the detained men at the time of the assault. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor's office.
