Morocco Expands Physicians Council Membership to 40 Members

Morocco's Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, has unveiled significant changes to the National Council of the Order of Physicians. Before the Social Sectors Committee of the House of Representatives, Ait Taleb detailed the core elements of draft law No. 045.26. This proposed legislation seeks to modify and supplement the existing Law No. 08.12, which governs the National Council of the Order of Physicians.

The primary objective of this new law is to align the legal framework of the physicians' council with the ongoing reforms of the national health system. Ait Taleb emphasized that the changes aim to strengthen the regional dimension and improve overall governance within the healthcare sector. A notable alteration involves expanding the membership of the National Council itself, increasing its representation from 27 to 40 members. This expansion is intended to foster a more inclusive and representative body for medical professionals across Morocco.
