These efforts have yielded tangible results, often overlooked by those who take them for granted. The source pointed out that the western Mediterranean has remained relatively stable for Europe not due to a lack of targeting by human trafficking networks, but because Morocco has effectively deployed substantial resources to counter them.

Significant human, technical, and financial resources have been mobilized for this purpose. The cooperation between Morocco and the Spanish government was specifically highlighted as exemplary. Statistics reveal the scale of these operations: 74,000 irregular migration attempts were thwarted in 2025, and 79,000 in 2024, totaling approximately 160,000 attempts over two years. Furthermore, 632 human trafficking networks were dismantled during 2024 and 2025, and over 32,000 successful sea rescues were conducted in the same period. Over the past five years, more than 360,000 irregular migration attempts have been intercepted.
