Morocco’s National Rally of Independents steps up election mobilization in Taounate

A large gathering in the village of Ba Mohammed has given Morocco’s National Rally of Independents a chance to display its electoral strength in Taounate, just days before the Sept. 23, 2026 legislative elections.

The meeting brought together party members from across the Fez-Meknes region, with the participation of party president Mohamed Chouki, members of the political bureau and local officials. Mustapha El Maysouri, the party’s provincial coordinator in Taounate, used the event to reaffirm the party’s organizational presence and high level of mobilization in the constituency.

The gathering featured energetic party chants and a large turnout. Party officials presented it as evidence that the local base remains cohesive and prepared for the coming contest. Younes Rafiq, the party’s regional coordinator for Fez-Meknes, said he was proud of the strong public attendance and described the choice of candidates as successful because it reflected sustained fieldwork, direct contact with residents and awareness of local needs.

Rafiq also pointed to the organization of two regional meetings in Taounate during a single year as evidence of the region’s organizational momentum. He described the party’s structure there as being in excellent condition.

Turning to development, Rafiq said the government, the regional and provincial councils, and local authorities were making major efforts to improve residents’ living conditions under the king’s patronage. Although the province had suffered historical marginalization for many years, he said development had begun and required continued advocacy for Taounate’s territorial and legislative concerns. He called on the party’s political bureau to defend those issues, and said Taounate and Ba Mohammed would remain a firmly established stronghold for the party through continued work and mobilization.
