Morocco weather forecast for Monday

Morocco is set for fairly hot to hot weather on Monday across the northern and central plains, the Souss region, the southeast and the interior of the desert provinces, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology.

Low clouds are expected in the morning and at night, bringing fog banks or very light, locally scattered rain near the coast. Thunderstorms are forecast over the Atlas Mountains, their eastern foothills and the phosphate plateaus, with the Chaouia region also potentially affected overnight.

Souss, the Rif and the southern part of the eastern region could see rain showers accompanied by thunder. Somewhat strong wind gusts are expected in the southeast and the desert provinces, with local dust likely to be carried by the wind.

Minimum temperatures will range from 15 to 21 degrees Celsius in the Atlas and Rif mountains and the western desert provinces. They will reach 26 to 33 degrees in the northern and central plains, Souss, the southeast, and the eastern and southern desert provinces. Elsewhere, overnight temperatures will range from 21 to 26 degrees. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise noticeably in the south.
