Moscow restaurant explosion caused by explosive device, three dead

An explosion at a Moscow restaurant has been officially determined to be caused by an explosive device, according to investigators. The blast killed three people and injured 21 others, as reported by the state agency Tass, citing the National Antiterrorist Committee.

Initial speculation had pointed to a possible gas explosion. However, current findings suggest a woman attempted to bring the explosive into the establishment. She was reportedly stopped by a security guard, and the ensuing explosion killed both of them, along with a patron of the café-restaurant. The motive behind the incident remains unclear.

The restaurant, "Balzi Rossi," located on Moscow's Garden Ring, was reportedly booked for a private event. Social media reports indicated it might have been a wedding reception or a birthday celebration for a general in the Russian armed forces. Authorities have not yet released official details regarding the nature of the event.
