Mosquito larva sparks concern in Britain after species linked to Zika is found

A larva from a tropical mosquito capable of spreading dengue and Zika viruses has been found in Britain, raising concern over the species’ presence in the country.

Sky News reported that this is the first time the mosquito has been seen reproducing in Britain. The discovery involves a species known to expand into new areas by “hitchhiking” in luggage and imported plants.
