Most Johor State Executive Councilors to Defend Seats in Upcoming Election

Most Johor state executive councilors are set to defend their seats in the upcoming state election on July 11. Johor Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the candidate list, revealing that the majority of the current councilors will represent BN.

However, one executive councilor, Khairin-Nisa Ismail, who previously contested in the Serom state constituency, has been removed from the candidate list. K. Raven Kumar, who chaired the State Unity, Heritage, and Culture Committee, will switch constituencies, moving from Tenggaroh to contest in Kemelah.

Nine executive councilors, including Onn Hafiz, will defend the seats they won in the 2022 Johor state election. Onn Hafiz will run in Machap, while Datuk Zahari Sarip (Buloh Kasap), Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh (Bukit Pasir), Mohd. Fared Mohd. Khalid (Semerah), Ling Tian Soon (Yong Peng), and Lee Ting Han (Paloh) will also defend their respective constituencies. Additionally, Aznan Tamin will defend Tanjung Surat, Datuk Mohd. Jafni Md. Shukor will contest in Bukit Permai, and Mohd. Hairi Mad Shah will run in Larkin.
