Most remains sovereignist alternative to HDZ, SDP, and Možemo

Nikola Grmoja, president of the Croatian party Most, declared on Thursday that his party stands as a sovereignist alternative to the ruling HDZ, the main opposition SDP, and the Možemo! party. Grmoja asserted that despite public political differences, these major parties support similar policies on key national issues.

Grmoja cited the Costabella beach in Rijeka, managed by the Hilton hotel, as an example of government failure, blaming both former SDP and current HDZ administrations. He stressed that public access to coastal areas, considered maritime property, should not be restricted.

The Most leader also referenced the acquittal of Sinj mayor Miro Bulj, who refused to implement COVID-19 certificates in the city administration during the pandemic. Grmoja suggested that if Most gains power, they would investigate the National Civil Protection Directorate, institutional actions, and vaccine procurement during the pandemic.

Bulj was the only Croatian mayor at the time who opposed such measures.

Furthermore, Grmoja criticized the introduction of the euro, recalling Most's proposal to delay it due to inflation, a proposal unsupported by any major party. He linked this decision to rising prices and a declining standard of living. He also opposed the import of foreign labor, emphasizing Croatia's need to control immigration for national security and advocating for prioritizing citizens' safety.
