Mother demands owner's responsibility after pit bull attack leaves child with 'irreversible damage'

A four-year-old boy is in critical condition at the Hospital Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo in Chiclayo after a brutal pit bull attack. The incident occurred in the Otuzparia neighborhood as the child returned home with his mother. Severe injuries to his face and other parts of his body necessitated an emergency transfer to the hospital.

The boy's family is demanding that the dog's owner take responsibility for the attack's consequences. The mother stated the attack was unexpected, as she believed the dog was usually kept confined. Upon entering the home with her son, the pit bull suddenly attacked them. Despite attempts by bystanders to intervene, the dog's size and strength made it difficult to control.

Both the mother and son sustained injuries, but the child bore the brunt of the attack. The family has filed a police report and is seeking accountability, questioning the lack of preventative measures to keep the animal secured within the property. They expressed dissatisfaction with the owner's response, particularly the minimal financial aid offered.
