Mother recounts horror as son, 3, dies in pit bull attack in Argentina

A family in Córdoba, Argentina, is reeling from the tragic death of their three-year-old son, Salvador, who was fatally attacked by a pit bull. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Villa La Lonja neighborhood.

Salvador's mother, Claudia, recounted the harrowing moments leading up to the attack. She had gone inside to cook while her husband washed their truck. When she came out to check on her son, he was gone. She found him moments later being attacked by the dog. "When I saw him, the dogs were already eating him," she described, visibly distraught. The boy was rushed to the Clínica Vélez Sarsfield with severe injuries to his face and neck but succumbed to his wounds at the health center.

The family is demanding justice and accountability from the dog's owners, who reportedly fled the scene after the attack. "All I want is justice for my son and for that person to go to jail," Claudia stated. Brenda, Salvador's grandmother, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the critical need for responsible pet ownership, especially with breeds like pit bulls. "I ask that people who have these animals have responsible ownership, because, just as it happened to Salvador, it can happen to another child," she pleaded.

The grandmother stressed that the owner bears the ultimate responsibility for the dog's actions. "The fault lies with the owner, and the one who has to pay is the owner," she reiterated. The case is currently under investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the child's death. The family hopes their tragedy will serve as a wake-up call for greater responsibility among pet owners.
