Prosecutor lists 20 points Manuel Adorni must explain

Federal prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita has formally accused former Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni of illicit enrichment during his tenure in public office. Pollicita's indictment outlines 20 specific inconsistencies identified by contrasting Adorni's financial declarations with his documented expenses and investments, based on evidence gathered during a judicial investigation.

The prosecutor is demanding detailed explanations from Adorni regarding the origin of his funds. This includes clarifying the source of significant amounts of cash declared, the legitimacy of family loans totaling millions of pesos, and the specifics of an "asset sale" invoked as justification for undeclared funds. Pollicita requires information on which assets were sold, when, to whom, for how much, and with what traceable financial or registration documentation.

Further scrutiny is directed at Adorni's expenditures and acquisitions. The indictment questions the justification for purchasing a 2021 Jeep Compass Sport in 2024, while still possessing a 2019 Renault Captur. It also probes the acquisition of a property in the Indio Cuá country club in November 2024, demanding an explanation for the source of funds, entry fees, and why the property is registered solely under Bettina Angeletti's name. Adorni initially failed to declare this property, rectifying it only in April after the criminal investigation commenced.

Pollicita also seeks clarification on renovations made to properties, including details about a jacuzzi and waterfall, and the origin of funds for furniture purchases in Caballito. Other areas of inquiry include the source of funds for a new apartment purchase, alleged inheritances, travel expenses, school fees, credit card usage, cryptocurrency transactions, and other financial movements. The prosecutor also questions the role of a notary and the existence of additional vehicles and bank debts.
