Motorcycle passenger dies in Condesa after being hit by fleeing cargo truck

A 28-year-old man died in Mexico City on Thursday afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding as a passenger was struck by a cargo truck. The truck driver then fled the scene, leaving authorities to search for him.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Circuito Interior and Agustín Melgar in the Condesa neighborhood. The motorcycle, an Italika 250Z reportedly used for ride-sharing services, was traveling when a white cargo truck, moving to its left, made contact with the vehicle.

The impact caused the motorcycle to lose control, and both riders fell. Tragically, the rear wheels of the cargo truck passed over the head of the passenger. Paramedics from the Red Cross responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead due to severe head trauma.

The 19-year-old motorcycle driver suffered a leg injury and received medical attention at the scene. Authorities have initiated efforts to locate the cargo truck driver who abandoned the area immediately after the collision.
