Motorcycling-Argentina: Nico Torrez returns to action in the Moto4 Latin Cup

After a break of more than two months, Nico Torrez returns to competition this weekend at the Villicum circuit in San Juan, Argentina, where the Moto4 Latin Cup resumes with a packed schedule.

The Paraguayan rider will take part in the championship’s seventh and eighth rounds. The series serves as a training category for young riders who hope to reach MotoGP, bringing together some of the continent’s strongest emerging talents.

This weekend’s meeting will include three races rather than the usual two. The additional race will make up for the contest that officials suspended during the opening round in Goiânia, Brazil, because repairs to the track surface took longer than expected. That event became a controversial chapter in the MotoGP weekend.

Torrez, who races with his familiar No. 46, has made steady progress during his first season in the international category. He has improved his times and race positions throughout the year and now sits eighth in the championship with 35.5 points. He will look to continue that upward run in San Juan.
