Motorcyclist Attacked with Knife on Federal Highway

A routine commute turned into a terrifying ordeal for a motorcyclist who was brutally attacked on the Federal Highway near Section 13, Shah Alam. The 45-year-old victim was on his way to work when the incident occurred around 7 a.m.

According to Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah, the assault stemmed from a dispute over traffic. The victim honked at the 43-year-old suspect because he was obstructing the motorcycle lane. This seemingly minor act of frustration enraged the suspect.

In response, the suspect, also a local, stopped his vehicle and proceeded to attack the motorcyclist with a meat cleaver. The victim sustained injuries to his head, arms, and hands. He was subsequently rushed to Shah Alam Hospital for treatment.

Police have apprehended the suspect in connection with the incident. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. If convicted, the suspect faces a potential jail sentence of up to 10 years, a fine, or both. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid the investigation.
