Motorcyclist dies after collision with Metrobús unit in Xochimilco; victim's identity unknown

A motorcyclist lost their life Tuesday morning following a collision with a Metrobús unit from Line 5. The incident occurred near the Preparatoria 1 station in Xochimilco, Mexico City.

The accident took place around 11:10 a.m. on La Noria Avenue, at its intersection with Prolongación División del Norte, in the Paseo del Sur neighborhood. Initial reports indicate that an articulated Metrobús vehicle and a gray and black motorcycle were involved. The exact circumstances leading to the crash are currently under investigation by authorities.

Paramedics from the Escuadrón de Rescate y Urgencias Médicas (ERUM) arrived at the scene but determined that the motorcyclist had already died from their injuries. Traffic police secured the area to facilitate the work of emergency services and preserve evidence for the investigation. Vehicle traffic experienced disruptions as ministerial and forensic personnel conducted their procedures, including the removal of the body and the compilation of the investigation file.

As of now, the identity of the deceased motorcyclist has not been released. Authorities will be responsible for determining the mechanics of the accident and assigning any necessary responsibilities.
