Motorcyclist hospitalized after incident at Nemuno Ring

A motorcyclist born in 1996 was hospitalized following an incident at the Nemuno Ring in the Kaunas district on the evening of July 16th. Police and medical personnel were present at the scene.

According to Kaunas police, the report of the incident came in around 7:52 p.m. The motorcyclist was transported from the track to the hospital. Initial reports indicated the accident happened during a race.

Social media posts suggest the event "GazoTerapija" was taking place at Nemuno Ring on Thursday. The event is described on Facebook as a safe place for practice and improvement, catering to riders of all levels with no "racing stress," emphasizing training and enjoying time on the track. Participants ride in groups based on their pace.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident under Article 137, Part 1 of the Lithuanian Criminal Code, which pertains to serious bodily harm caused by negligence.
