Motorcyclist Killed in Co. Donegal Crash

A motorcyclist, aged in his 60s, has died following a collision with a car on the N56 in County Donegal. The incident occurred on Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m., just before the evening rush hour.

Emergency services attended the scene, and although the motorcyclist received treatment, he was pronounced dead at the location. His body was subsequently transported to the mortuary at Letterkenny University Hospital for a postmortem examination. The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to the same hospital with injuries that were reported as non-serious.

The N56 was closed for a period on Friday evening to allow for a forensic examination by Garda technical staff. Local diversions were put in place to redirect traffic. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward. They are particularly interested in drivers who were on the N56 between the Lagoon Restaurant & Guesthouse and Creeslough in the hour surrounding the collision.
