Mourinho awaits Diaz's return, concerned about incomplete Real Madrid squad

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is looking forward to the return of Moroccan international Brahim Diaz to team training on Monday. However, Mourinho also voiced concerns about the squad not being fully assembled during the pre-season preparations for the upcoming season.

These remarks followed Real Madrid's 2-2 draw with Fiorentina in their third friendly match of the summer. Mourinho explained that the absence of several key players impacted the team's preparation. "I wished to work with all the players for three weeks; but that is not possible at the moment, because Vinícius Júnior, Brahim Díaz, and Bernardo Silva will join the team on Monday," he stated.

Despite the draw, Mourinho expressed satisfaction with his players' performance, observing that the team displayed three distinct facets during the game. He noted, "We showed a fresh face, a tired one, and a third one that was extremely tired. We had a good first half, we were leading 2-1, and we could have finished it with three or four goals." He also commented on the second half, which he described as physically demanding, with Fiorentina applying significant pressure on Real Madrid. He praised the performance of young players Juan and Mario, despite their lack of experience and physical strength against a forward like Moise Kean.

Mourinho also commended the physical effort of Denzel Dumfries and Endrick, who played over 70 minutes despite only having participated in three training sessions. "This means a lot to me, and I liked everything," he said. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of maintaining the club's identity in all circumstances, telling the young players, "Real Madrid will remain Real Madrid, even in friendly matches."
