Mr. Skelly Arrives in Croatia: Beloved Skeleton Character Becomes Global Bestseller

Christian Watson's gentle book "How Lucky Am I," featuring the character Mr. Skelly, has become a global phenomenon, topping bestseller lists in the US and UK shortly after its release. The book, which explores life, loss, and the beauty of everyday moments, is now available in Croatian.

Mr. Skelly originated as a simple drawing by American animator and designer Christian Watson in 2023 while he was living in Tasmania with his family. The character, a skeleton contemplating life's transience and finding beauty in small moments, quickly resonated with millions. Today, Watson's work and Mr. Skelly have a following of over six million people across social media platforms.

The book "How Lucky Am I" was published in late July and immediately secured the number one spot on the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller lists. The Croatian edition, titled "Koliko sam sretan," has also garnered significant interest, with a successful pre-sale.

Watson, originally from Myrtle Creek, Oregon, built his career as an animator, designer, and founder of the creative studio 1924us before creating Mr. Skelly. He moved to Tasmania seeking a quieter life, where the character was born as a personal project for his children.
