MTN Nigeria director Eyitope Kola-Oyeneyin to leave board

Eyitope Kola-Oyeneyin, an Independent Non-Executive Director at MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, is set to resign from the company's board, effective August 31. The telecommunications giant announced her departure in a statement filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

While MTN Nigeria did not specify the reason for Mrs. Kola-Oyeneyin's exit in its regulatory filing, the company acknowledged her contributions. The board expressed its gratitude for her service and extended best wishes for her future endeavors.

Mrs. Kola-Oyeneyin brings over two decades of global experience as a systems change leader and transformation expert. She has served as a senior advisor, operating executive, and policymaker across various African nations. Currently, she is the Managing Partner of Augmentum Advisory, guiding senior leaders in digital transformation and policy innovation.

Her extensive background includes expertise in digital financial services and a deep understanding of the Sub-Saharan African financial landscape. Notably, in July, she was appointed Chairperson of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC). Previously, she held positions at First Bank and McKinsey & Company, where she played a key role in developing initiatives like Cashless Lagos and the Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities (SANEF) program aimed at expanding financial inclusion in Nigeria.
