MTN Nigeria Launches 2026 mPulse Spelling Bee for Students Nationwide

MTN Nigeria has initiated the 8th edition of its mPulse Spelling Bee, a nationwide literacy competition designed for primary and secondary school students aged nine to 15. The event aims to foster educational development and reward academic excellence among young Nigerians.

The competition spans from July 20 to November 28, incorporating digital participation and regional physical contests. It will culminate in a live grand finale held in Lagos. Participants have the chance to win scholarships, cash prizes, ICT devices, and the unique opportunity to serve as 'MTN CEO for a Day'.

This year's edition features an expanded model to enhance accessibility across the country. Three regional physical contests will take place in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Abeokuta, bringing together qualifiers from Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. This structure allows more students to advance through the competition before reaching the national finals.

Beyond individual student achievements, the competition also recognizes the efforts of schools and teachers. Top participating schools in each region are eligible for prizes up to ₦1 million, with additional incentives for outstanding educators. The competition begins with online practice and qualifying rounds on mpulse.mtn.ng, enabling widespread participation. The top 3,000 students will proceed to the regional stage, with the best performers advancing to the grand finale where 20 finalists will compete for prizes totaling up to ₦40 million.
