Multi-Vehicle Crash on Taiwan Freeway Injures Over 30

A major traffic accident involving nine vehicles, including a bus carrying employees of AUO Corporation, occurred on National Freeway 1 near Linkou, Taiwan, early Wednesday morning. The collision, which happened around 6:40 a.m. on the northbound lanes at kilometer 42.6, resulted in over 30 individuals suffering injuries of varying severity.

Emergency services, including fire departments and highway police, responded swiftly to the scene to provide aid and clear the wreckage. Due to the large number of injured, they were transported to multiple medical facilities, including Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Taoyuan General Hospital. The Taoyuan International Airport Corporation even deployed a bus-style ambulance to assist in transporting the casualties.

The involved vehicles included five sedans, two large trucks, one bus, and one small truck. The bus was carrying more than 20 Filipino employees from AUO's Longtan plant, heading to their workplace at the Huaya Technology Park in Guishan District when the accident took place.

The incident caused significant traffic disruptions on the northbound lanes of the freeway as authorities worked to manage the scene and investigate the cause of the multi-vehicle crash.
