Multiple Near-Drownings at Hopa Beach Underscore Governorate's Warning

Four separate incidents of near-drowning occurred at Kopmuş Beach in the Hopa district, requiring intervention from bystanders to rescue those in distress. Medical teams transported the individuals to Hopa State Hospital. One person, reported to be in serious condition, was transferred to Artvin for advanced treatment, while the others are said to be recovering well.

In a separate event in the Kemalpaşa district, a woman who experienced a near-drowning incident in the sea was also rescued by citizens. After receiving initial medical attention at the scene, her condition was reported as stable.

These incidents occurred despite a prior warning issued by the Artvin Governorate. Based on meteorological assessments from the Coast Guard Command, the governorate had advised the public to refrain from swimming on July 25-27, anticipating strong winds and wave heights potentially reaching up to 2 meters. The governorate urged citizens to heed official warnings to ensure safety and prevent drowning incidents.
