Museveni in Tanzania for Two-Day Working Visit

President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for a two-day working visit. He accepted an invitation from his counterpart, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Uganda and Tanzania.

Upon his arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, Museveni was greeted by Tanzania's Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, along with Uganda's High Commissioner to Tanzania, Col. Fred Mwesigye, and other senior government officials. The President reviewed a silent guard of honour and was entertained by a cultural dance performance before proceeding to his official residence.

During the visit, the two heads of state are scheduled to engage in high-level bilateral talks. Discussions will center on issues of mutual interest, including enhancing bilateral cooperation, promoting regional integration within the East African Community, expanding trade and investment, and advancing infrastructure development. Peace and security in the region, alongside other avenues for deepening their strategic partnership, will also be on the agenda.
