Museveni reshuffles ICT ministry, appoints new minister

President Yoweri Museveni has initiated a significant restructuring within key government ministries, notably dropping Godfrey Kabbyanga, the former State Minister for ICT and National Guidance. Alioni Yorke Odria has been appointed to assume the leadership of this docket, signaling a new phase for the ministry.

Kabbyanga confirmed his departure from the cabinet through a message on his official X account. He conveyed deep humility and gratitude to President Museveni for the opportunity to serve over the past five years. Kabbyanga highlighted his contributions to Uganda's digital transformation and communication agenda, describing his tenure as a valuable learning experience aligned with the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) vision.

He extended thanks to the NRM leadership and the Ugandan people for their support, reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the ruling party.
