Museveni Urges Ugandans to Turn Political Victory into Economic Growth

President Yoweri Museveni has called on the people of Isingiro District to leverage the National Resistance Movement's (NRM) recent political success into tangible economic gains. Speaking through Vice President Jessica Alupo during NRM victory celebrations, Museveni stressed that the party's electoral triumph provides a mandate to accelerate economic development.

We all have a part to play in the economic transformation of our communities, nation and region. The foundation has already been laid and the ball is in your court to ensure that Isingiro is glorious and a haven of prosperity, wealth and progress.

"We all have a part to play in the economic transformation of our communities, nation and region," Museveni stated in a message delivered by Alupo. He emphasized that the groundwork for prosperity has been established, and the onus is now on the residents of Isingiro to ensure their district becomes a "haven of prosperity, wealth and progress." The President highlighted the NRM's commitment to grassroots economic growth, pointing to infrastructure development and wealth creation programs as evidence of the party's efforts to uplift citizens.

Museveni specifically mentioned programs such as the Parish Development Model, Operation Wealth Creation, and Emyooga, asserting that these initiatives have already brought about positive changes in people's lives. He thanked the constituents of Isingiro County North for their strong support, which he said demonstrated their vote for "value, peace and development."

It has put in place infrastructure to speed up growth of regions and has provided resources to the poor and underprivileged through wealth creation programmes like the Parish Development Model, Operation Wealth Creation and Emyooga and all these have brought about a change in people's livelihoods.

Vice President Alupo echoed the President's sentiments, congratulating Isingiro residents for their overwhelming support for the NRM. She assured them of the government's continued dedication to improving social services, including healthcare, education, and infrastructure. However, she urged communities to actively participate in government programs to enhance household incomes. Col. Bright Rwamirama, the local Member of Parliament, also pledged to improve service delivery based on community needs.
